Privacy Policy – NorthTints.us
Last revised: September 17, 2026
NorthTints.us (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and share personal information when you visit our website, place an order, create an account, sign at checkout, contact us, or request assistance.
For order concerns, use our Contact Us page or email [email protected]. Information you provide is used to review the purchase and work toward a resolution. Our contact-first process does not waive legal rights or bank dispute deadlines.
1. Information We Collect
- Contact and account information: name, email address, telephone number, billing and shipping addresses, username, and account preferences.
- Order information: products, vehicle specifications, film and coverage selections, quantity, instructions, transaction status, and fulfillment records.
- Support and claim information: messages, photographs, videos, descriptions of damage or defects, return information, and requested resolutions.
- Website and security information: IP address, browser and device information, cookies, pages and products viewed, referral information, cart activity, login attempts, and interactions with the website.
- Payment information: payment processors collect full payment credentials. We receive the transaction references, limited payment-method details, status, and verification information needed to administer the purchase.
2. Electronic Signatures and Checkout Acknowledgments
When you sign at checkout, we collect the submitted signature and associate it with the order and available acknowledgment records. We use these records to document order instructions and acceptance, administer the purchase, answer questions, and review claims or payment disputes. Records may include the date and time, order data, terms presented, transaction references, IP address, and browser or device information where those records are enabled and available.
Relevant signature and acknowledgment records may be provided to service providers administering the order and to a payment processor, acquiring bank, card issuer, card network, carrier, insurer, or other party reviewing a claim or dispute. These disclosures are limited to the relevant purpose and are not public publication of a signature. You may contact us to request an available copy of your signed order record.
3. How We Use Information
- Process payments, verify transactions, prepare custom orders, and arrange shipping.
- Provide accounts, order confirmations, delivery updates, installation information, and customer support.
- Review damaged, defective, missing, incorrect, or materially misdescribed goods and administer returns, replacements, refunds, and warranty claims.
- Prevent unauthorized activity, secure the website, and respond to payment disputes.
- Understand website use and improve products, services, and user experience.
- Send marketing communications when permitted and manage opt-out requests.
- Meet tax, accounting, legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping duties and establish or defend claims.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform a contract, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate business interests subject to your rights, or act on consent. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it as permitted by law.
4. Order Problems, Claims, and Payment Disputes
We understand that material can be damaged in transit and order issues can occur. Provide the order number and a clear description. Relevant photos of the product, packaging, label, and damage can help, but contact us if photos are unavailable.
For an authorized purchase, our Terms request that you contact us first and provide a reasonable opportunity to help, subject to law and payment-provider rules. You do not have to delay reporting an unauthorized transaction or miss a deadline.
When an order is subject to a dispute, we may share relevant records with parties administering it, including order details and selected specifications; terms, checkout consent, and electronic-signature records; available payment-verification data; shipping and delivery records; relevant messages and photographs; and records of returns, replacements, refunds, or proposed resolutions. We limit disclosure to information reasonably relevant to the matter. Filing a good-faith dispute is not automatically treated as fraud.
5. Other Sharing
We share information as reasonably needed with providers supporting payment processing, shipping, fulfillment, hosting, security, analytics, email, customer support, and marketing. For a product or shipping claim, relevant information may be shared with the manufacturer, carrier, or insurer. Providers may process information under their own privacy notices.
We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, to protect customers and our business from unlawful activity, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We do not sell a checkout signature as a standalone product or treat a complaint as permission to disclose unrelated information.
6. Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and similar technologies support shopping carts, account sessions, preferences, fraud prevention, security, advertising, and analytics. You can manage cookies through browser settings and any privacy-choice control displayed on the site. Blocking cookies may affect checkout or account features.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect personal information and restrict access to authorized purposes. No system can guarantee absolute security. Protect account credentials and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not send passwords, full payment-card numbers, or card security codes through email or a contact form.
8. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for order administration, support, tax and accounting duties, fraud prevention, applicable warranty, claim and dispute periods, legal obligations, and establishment or defense of claims. A deletion request may not require immediate removal of records that must lawfully be retained for a transaction, pending dispute, or legal obligation. Information is deleted or anonymized when no longer needed, subject to lawful retention and backup practices.
9. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent or opt out of certain processing. Legal exceptions may permit retention for transactions, security, compliance, or dispute resolution.
Submit requests through our Contact Us page or [email protected]. We may request reasonable verification before releasing or changing records. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. You may unsubscribe from marketing through the link in an email; necessary order, security, and support messages may still be sent.
10. Children
The website and products are not directed to children under the age required to enter into a purchase contract. If you believe a child supplied personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us.
11. International Processing
Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where service providers operate. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, those requirements continue to apply.
12. Changes and Contact
We may revise this policy prospectively and post the current version here. A revision does not retroactively establish consent that was not obtained. For privacy questions or requests, use our Contact Us page, email [email protected], or call 217-666-2316.
